What Inspector Does for You

Visibility Saves Time

We designed Inspector so you can understand how networked systems, applications, and users interact. Click on any element and see its reach and impact on everything else.  In 3 clicks, isolate any issue: bandwidth, response time, or threats, and act quickly to correct it. The best part is, it doesn't matter what network gear you have or what challenges you face, Inspector will optimize operations, simplify processes, and save money.

3 Clicks to Troubleshooting Gold

Using Inspector's Browser interface, you can look at any workstation, application, or server and answer questions like; How much bandwidth does it use? What services were consumed? When is activity heaviest? What content is being downloaded, uploaded, sent or received? Is the activity authorized? Within 3 mouse clicks, track issues from macro view to micro findings, from identifying cause to understanding effect.

Make a Solid Handoff

Inspector's access-controlled Web interface enables secure use by all vested parties from anywhere on the network. Communication between departments, divisions and individuals becomes streamlined and efficient because everyone has access to the same information. Inspector generates daily PDF reports designed for both technical and non-technical stakeholders. The reports save time and effort of harvesting data needed for informed decision making, allowing you to make a solid hand-off to responsible parties. The reports also make compliance documentation a breeze.

How it Works. An Overview of Inspector's 3-Tier Architecture

COLLECT: Continuous Packet Analysis Technology

Inspector was designed for speed and ease of use. The software installs and runs on a single Windows system connected to a network tap-point  (monitoring port) on the backbone router, and from here logs every packet flow entering and leaving the network. Inspector's packet driver collects and intelligently decodes the flows for salient and actionable information about your network’s behavior, saving you the time and hassle associated with other packet analysis solutions. Next, Inspector indexes the filtered data into Tier 2 of its architecture, the Relational Database.

DATABASE: Data + Relationships

By indexing and storing its findings in a relational database, Inspector allows you to move through your network and see how one element relates to and affects all other elements. Because Inspector filters and organizes this data into coherent hyperlinked tables, you can ask questions and get answers with confidence. This brings us to Tier 3.

PRESENT: The Dataflow Browser

Inspector provides unfettered visibility into an entire network, including remote sites. Networks are represented in terms of how system communications flow; internal users make outbound requests and external users make inbound requests. Understanding this model, you can use Inspector's point-n-click menu like a lens to bring any issue quickly into focus. Easily scope data  by time and date to isolate only the activities you're interested in seeing.  In as little as 3 clicks, you can find the cause of any issue and act to correct it.
